Danish Cinema
Queen of Hearts
Dronningen
A successful lawyer, with a good life and a loving husband, begins a sexual relationship with her teenage stepson. May el-Toukhy makes the film deliberately, uncomfortably one-sided — we only ever have Anne's perspective, which means we only ever see what she allows herself to see. Trine Dyrholm makes you understand, if not forgive, every step of the descent. Won the Nordic Council Film Prize. One of the most morally uncomfortable Danish films I've watched.
