Maria was once an elite swimmer. Today she is a well-known sports commentator, happily married to Mikael, the coach who trained her when she was young and the father of their daughter. Then a book is announced. In it, a young woman writes about the infatuation she felt as a teenager for her swimming coach, and the rumours quickly point to Mikael. The press smells a scandal. Friends start to keep their distance. And Maria, who has built her whole life around this man, has to ask herself what she really knows about him, and about her own story.

The film stays inside the marriage rather than the courtroom, and it never reaches for easy answers. Danica Ćurčić is excellent as Maria, a woman whose loyalty, love and doubt are all real at the same time, and Lars Ranthe makes Mikael impossible to read, which is exactly the point.

It is a film about trust, about power between adults and the young people in their care, and about how a family can be broken by a question before anyone has an answer. It is tense and uncomfortable, and it trusts its audience to sit with the ambiguity. Another strong, morally serious Danish drama.
