Strangers Refugee & Migration Cinema

Everyone is a foreigner somewhere.

14 films

Boats in the dark off the Sicilian coast. A wall that cuts a family in two. Lives split between Hamburg and Istanbul. An asylum seeker stopped at an Icelandic airport, a Norwegian-Pakistani girl sent away from Oslo, an Athenian who decides his square has too many "foreigners". These are films about people who cross borders and the borders that cross them: the ones who leave, the ones who stay behind, and the ones who have to decide whether to open the door.

None of them is a lecture. They are thrillers, love stories, comedies and family dramas, and what they share is a simple question: what do we owe a stranger?
