万引き家族
On the margins of Tokyo, a makeshift family connected not by blood but by necessity and genuine affection survives through petty theft. Koreeda asks one question and spends two hours refusing to answer it simply: what actually makes a family? The answer the film arrives at is uncomfortable and very moving. He never forces a tear — he just shows you people living, and lets the weight accumulate on its own. Won the Palme d'Or at Cannes.
